Look like Walkerway is auditioning to be Letterman's replacement. Going rate seems to be $60 per acre with few obstructions. Each acre over that add $30-40

it can definitely be all over the place. I've got a 1 acre lot that I mow for $40. Perfect square, driveway partially down one side, wide open other than that. I'm assuming they're gonna build on it some day, but for now they're out of state owners that pay like clockwork.

Then I've got a .9 acre lot that I mow for $90 and that's actually a really good deal. It should probably be more like $110. House, numerous trees/shrubs/beds, pool, garage, greenhouse. Several narrow strips that require a 21". I wanted it though because its right on a main road and near several "big $$ neighborhoods", and I really wanted my truck with signage sitting out front for almost 2 hrs per week.

How much do you need to make per hour? I have a lot that I mow, perfect square, home owner likes to do the trimming, and there is no blowing or cleanup, I charge 50 bucks. Assuming all you're doing is mowing I would charge $50 an acre at a minimum.

Depends on many factors. How far away from other properties, what is the slope of the property, can I get into the property easily, is there a ton of stuff to mow around, and how often is it going to be mowed will effect the price. I generally charge $35 per man hour as a base.

Does that include mower and fuel expense or?

Yes, if the property has farther out and would require more driving the cost would go up. Also if the property hasn't been mowed or maintained property the price goes up.

It is hard to price things until you get a hang of it. What I might do might not work for you. Listed below is a property I did until they went out of business. The deed says 1.4 acres, took me about an hour to do it myself and charged $45. I was undercut several times but one of the owners knew me pretty well.

Based on your description, $90 and $40. You will have to sell yourself to get the job, becasue there will be lower prices. You have to be prepared to defend your price

that's not 1.4 acres of turfÂ… lots of building and black top there, plus some tree line. your probably looking at a little over HALF an acre of turf.

25 minutes to cut,
20 minutes to trim
15 minutes for load unload and blow

that's an hourÂ…

$45 is probably a little light, won't be too much under cutting on that one.

I charge at more of a flat rate, and not on hourly. I average 35-40 an hour. Most of my properties are not even a 1/4 acre, so i use my 21". But for any that are an open acre field, I would charge $40. Not if there was a bunch of crap in the way, it might be a different story.

All depends what size of mower you have
I seen jobs go for $15 per acre

If I charge $20 per acre in a hour I'm making more then my hourly rate

20x6 = $120 per hour
15x6= $90 per hour

I never give a acre price on lawn mowing now if I was bush hogging then its by the acre
